Welcome to Year 3!

A very warm welcome to Year 3! We are so excited to have you with us and are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making special memories together.

We want Year 3 to be a happy, caring, and welcoming classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and supported. As the children begin their journey through Key Stage 2, we will encourage them to become increasingly confident and independent, to challenge themselves and, most importantly, to enjoy their learning.

Meet the Year 3 Team

Miss Waters – Class Teacher
Mrs Brown – Teaching Assistant
Miss Yetti – Additional Support

We are all here to support the children throughout their Year 3 journey and help them to achieve their very best.

Our Catholic Mission

As a Catholic school, our mission is grounded in the belief that we are made in the image of God to live, love, and learn in a caring Catholic community.

In Year 3, we aim to live out this mission every day through kindness, respect, forgiveness, and care for one another. We want every child to know that they are valued, loved and an important part of our school family.

Our School Promises

In Year 3, we work hard to follow our three school promises:

We are respectful.
We are responsible.
We are resilient.

We encourage the children to show these qualities in their learning, friendships, and choices throughout the school day.

Our School Day

Our classroom doors open at 8:40am and the school day finishes at 3:20pm.

Please help us make the most of every day by ensuring children arrive on time and ready to learn.

PE

Our PE lessons take place on Wednesday afternoons.

Children should come to school wearing their PE kit: a school PE top, black or navy shorts/joggers and trainers. As one of our PE sessions may take place outside, please make sure children are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Reading & Home Learning

Reading at home is incredibly important. We encourage children to read for at least 10 minutes each evening and ask that an adult signs their reading record.

Spellings and a short grammar/arithmetic activity will be sent home each Friday and should be returned the following Friday.

Communication

Working together with our families is important to us. If you have any questions, worries or anything you would like to discuss, please feel free to send me a message on Class Dojo or speak to me at the end of the school day.

We want to work closely with you to make sure your child is happy, supported, and able to achieve their very best throughout Year 3.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year together!
