RE Intent

Our RE Lead is Mr Kay who can be contacted on jkay@st-teresas-pri.lancs.sch.uk

It is our intention to provide an RE curriculum which allows our children to develop their spirituality to deepen their understanding of their religion and life-choices in the presence God. We strive to allow the children to develop the skills to be articulate and express their own understanding and beliefs, responding to other people’s opinions and to reflect upon the teachings of Jesus. They are also encouraged to develop their skills to be respectful towards other people and the environment.

We provide the children with the ability to be curious by encouraging them to ask questions and to show awe and wonder about the world created by God. We want our children to be aspirational so that, with the help of God, they can achieve any ambition, develop their understanding of God’s plan for them and to know that He will support and guide them through opportunities and during times of despair.

In line with the Diocese of Lancaster support for planning; our EYFS, Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 classes will deliver their Religious Education curriculum based on the delivery of the new RED. In Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 this will be supported by the 'Vine & Branches' Catholic Education Publication. From September 2025 Year 5 will begin move onto this curriculum and followed by Year 6 in September 2026.

You do have the right to remove your child from participating in all or part of their RE lessons however, as we are a Catholic Academy, we strongly encourage all our children to participate in all of their RE lessons.

The Mark 10 Mission - The Son of Man Coming in the Clouds

It's Friday and our new liturgy is here!

The Mark 10 Mission - The Son of Man Coming in the Clouds

In this liturgy, we hear Jesus explaining to his friends what will happen when he comes again. Fr Henry shares the Gospel and Liam invites us to imagine how Jesus will appear when he comes in the clouds with great power and glory. We also reflect upon how we can always trust in Jesus’s promises. Our liturgy concludes with a beautiful time of worship led by Angel.

St Teresa's Feast Day

As a school, all children celebrated St Teresa's feast day on 1 October 2020 with socially distanced worship in school. Father John came to school to bless the bibles and also to bless the statue of St Teresa which has been relocated near the school entrance.

St Teresa's “little way” was to do all the ordinary things with extraordinary love. Therese saw herself as a child of God. She liked to keep things simple and focused as a child does. Trust, especially trust in God, is a childlike virtue. She believed and taught us that life presents enough challenges and opportunities for grace. She teaches us that God is everywhere - in every situation and person - and in the ordinary, simple details of life.
