English Intent

It is our intention that our English Curriculum provides our children with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to become adaptable and resilient learners. We strive to ensure that all our pupils receive creative learning experiences when reading, writing, speaking and listening, which will equip them with the fundamental tools to achieve in our school and beyond.
We will immerse pupils in the wonders of quality texts and instil a love for reading, a curiosity for discovery and a confidence to explore their imagination.
EYFS and Year 1 follow Little Wandle for spelling. We also follow the Little Wandle Phonics scheme and if you would like further information about the scheme, please contact our Phonics Lead, Miss Gregory, on kgregory@st-teresas-pri.lancs.sch.uk
